Cashew nut industry – Cashew nut production<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/span><\/h3>[vc_column_text css=””]The cashew industry (cashew nut production) is looking promising, thanks to growing global demand. According to the Groupement des industriels du casjou en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire (GIC-CI)<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, 2023 was an exceptional year for cashew nut production and processing in West Africa. Raw cashew nut production exceeded 3 million tonnes<\/strong>, representing a significant 23% increase over 2022<\/strong>. Cashew is mainly a cash and export crop. It can be found in the tropical countries of Africa and Southeast Asia. The main producing countries (C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Nigeria) are not the main processing countries (India or Vietnam).<\/p> <\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Innovation and diversification are certainly the keys to a more sustainable and ethical industry. Cashew trees prefer well-drained soils. Regular monitoring of soil moisture is essential to adapt water inputs, avoiding both water stress and excess water.
